Sunday 21st January 10:00 - 5:00 | 5 Spaces available
In this day class you will learn how to produce 'suicide prints'. Don't let the nickname put you off - it's nothing but good fun in our cosy studio in Battersea.
Reduction lino cut is a method of block printing, in which each colour is printed on top of the last. You will learn the technique's involved to create these striking colour lino layered prints. You will learn to use carving tools in a variety of shapes and sizes from the delicate V tool to the shallow gouge tool. You will get to watch your print come to life over a multitude of layers, each unique and full of personality. You will go home with an artist proof series of 10 prints onto Fabriano paper.
This class is perfect for anyone who would like to be submerged in a day of printmaking and who would like to learn from knowledgable, friendly tutors who will guide you on every step of the creative journey. Whether you are a complete beginner or at a more intermediate level, we tailor our teaching style around each individual.
Bring along any ideas or influences you might have, we have a whole collection of reference materials, but if you have a particular idea in mind bring sketches, books or printouts with you. Refreshments and aprons are provided but it's always good to come in messy clothes. We will have an hour for lunch at 1 o clock. We can direct you to some lovely local pubs and cafes on the day.
Private lessons available on request.
Three adults or more? Get in touch and we can put a class on to suit your group booking.
